Introducing: The Playful Writer's Post
A Fun New Project That Combines My Love of Teaching, Writing, and Snail Mail
There’s something I’ve been working on behind the scenes… and I think you’re going to love it.
It started with a simple question: What if grammar didn’t feel like a chore? What if it felt… fun?
Not worksheets. Not busywork. Not “circle the correct answer and move on.” But something you actually wanted to open.
Something that felt a little like getting a letter in the mail. And not just a letter - a paper hug from a trusted friend, who truly wants to celebrate the writing journey WITH you!
That’s how The Playful Writer’s Post was born.
Each month, I’ll be sending out a themed envelope filled with thoughtful, creative, and useful materials designed to help you become a more confident writer—without the overwhelm.
Think:
simple, practical grammar tips you’ll actually use
“Playful Proofreading Practice” to sharpen your instincts
creative exercises that don’t feel intimidating
little touches that make writing feel enjoyable again
And yes… there may be bookmarks. And fun stickers. And things that feel a little extra in the very best way. :)
This first month focuses on something we all wrestle with at some point:
Apostrophes.
I’ve included a bite-sized lesson, a cute cheat sheet to keep at your desk or in your notebook, and lots of extra goodies. :)
Want to know the best part?
I made a few extra mock-up packets for March, and I’m giving them away for FREE (while supplies last; U.S. residents only).
So, if you want to get a little preview of this “happy mail for writers,” message me. I can’t wait to get these fun little packages into the hands of my fellow writers who could use a little encouragement, skill-building, and FUN! :)
Along with the monthly Playful Writer’s Post that I’ll be sending out to Founding Members here on Substack, I’m also connecting it to something bigger…
If you’ve ever thought: “I just want to feel more confident in my writing.” I created a course for that.
Grammar for Writers starts March 2. It’s a 4-week, fully online course designed specifically for adults who want clarity—not complexity.
No live meetings. No busywork. Just solid instruction you can work through on your own schedule.
And since you’re here (and part of this little corner of the internet I care so much about):
If you mention The Playful Writer’s Post, you’ll get $25 off.
This whole project—Substack, the Post, the course—it’s all connected.
It’s about helping people write with more confidence, more clarity… and maybe even a little more joy.
If that sounds like something you need right now, I’d love for you to be part of it.
And if nothing else—stick around. There’s more fun coming your way soon!
—Leah :)
